Alouette - pattern for cute bird themed wall quilt

My Alouette (Lark) quilt pattern was inspired by a photo prompt in the Quilt Design a Day facebook group. I decided to make this a pattern for a wall hanging size quilt. It is a nice quilt for most experience levels, with easy piecing and a touch of fusible applique (though you can add the applique birds by hand if you prefer!). My cover quilt was made with Island Batik fabrics, but I have color keyed the fabric requirements to allow you to choose your own fabrics. It would be great in solids, or tone on tone fabrics, and as you can see in the quilting cottons I made my most recent version with.

This wall hanging size quilt is a fusion of traditional and modern design. The Birds in the Air quilt block makes a great background for a sweet bird silhouette.

Full size reversed templates are included for ease in tracing on fusible web. The instructions are illustrated in color as well to make it simple to sew this cute quilt.

This quilt finishes at 46 x 46 inches, making it a great size for a baby quilt or a wall hanging.
